Tea and dreams of roses

tea.JPGThere’s something about spring in the garden that makes me want to sit back and admire my handiwork with a cup of tea.

And maybe after tilling the garden by hand I’ve earned myself some toast and jam.

And while I don’t yet have any rose blossoms, there are plenty all over this Afternoon Tea Gift Basket by Perfect Presents in Beverly.

For $45 it includes two types of cookies, mints, blueberry walnut cake, three types of tea and a proper porcelain cup and saucer. Oh, and chocolate – but I’m not broadcasting that fact in my house.

I wonder how chocolate will keep if I hide it in a tin in a flower pot in the garden shed?

By the way, how neat it is that you can also walk into the store on Cabot Street in Beverly? If you go, it’s a long stroll, but do walk over to the 85-year-old garden at Lynch Park. It’s where roses meet the harbor, and it’s worth the walk.
