drum.jpgIf you’re wondering if you child will be the next Carlos Valdés, head over to Strike up the Band.

Between the stacks of sheet music books and the music lessons offered in the back, they have “REMO Konga” conga drums that are not only kid-sized but they’re decorated in rain forest themes to make them kid friendly.

Each is $50, and comes with its own strap to carry over the shoulder. This is about the size for a 7-year-old, so buy this when your musician is too old for the plastic drums, but unsure about making a commitment to percussion instruments over another — because Strike up the Band will sell guitars to you too.

Oh, and the Remo drums won the Oppenheim Gold Seal Toy Awards for product quality. You’ll want to know about that when the kids are marching to their own drum.
