Looking great in the grocery store
If you’re going for that Jessica Alba hair-swept-off-the-face look, it’s really hard to find hair clips that will hold a lot of hair and not stick three feet off your head.
Which is why, right before I thought about cutting my hair, I was shocked to find exactly what I need at the grocery store.
Somewhere between whole-grain cereal and carrots at Whole Foods are beauty products that offer to be green, support women from all over the world and/or be just what you’re looking for.
This 4 1/4 inch long clip is certainly in that category. It was $7.49, but I can’t find this exact size at any pharmacy, beauty supplier or chain store I’ve looked in (and I’ve looked in many). It is long enough and strong enough to hold the heaviest of hair, and it lies flat — not like jaw clips — so I’m not going to catch it up on a seat in the car or a hat.
I found one in pink and green swirls, and this one in just-about-sienna is close to one of the shades of brown I’ve sported over the years.
