Haute couture for your wall
Usually if I’m heading to Bowl and Board in Cambridge, it’s because I’m putting together an edible gift and I need beautiful and functional salad tongs or a wooden spatula with a handle painted like a cat’s tail.
But they also specialize in beautiful things for your home, where you might not have a lot of space. Which is how I stumbled upon this haute couture corset wall jewelry holder for your wall.
It looks heavily detailed but only sticks out 3 inches from your wall, and is just over 2 feet high — which is great if you live in an older New England home with small rooms and gigantic ceilings. Pair it with a print of Renoir’s “Girl With a Fan” and you’ve got a room that transitions you from college to working lady or from busy mom to empty nester.
The website lists it under “jewelry storage,” but I’ve seen it successfully used as a place to store and display all those tiny silk scarfs we New England folks tie under our blouses and sweaters to keep the chill out.
