My Prince? I could use this frog too
Author: Kat Powers | January 21, 2008Out birthday looking, I spied in my local mall a Na Hoku jewelers. Attracted as I always am, to the Tahitian black pearls, something glittery caught my eye in the window.
This yellow gold Tree Frog ring with tsavorite, one of the bright green stones of the garnet family, can leap home with me if he wants. It’s by Stephen Douglas. The gold has a sandblasted look to it, with hand-polished lips, eyes and fingers — just like you would be going out for the night.
While looking at 10th anniversary gifts, my husband thought my engagement ring might need an upgrade, and we looked at cocktail rings. But they were too much, too big, too gaudy, or too old for me.
This four-toed guy — and I can’t really call him little — is just big enough, just hip enough and certainly cute enough to make the cut. And at $659 it’s not really an upgrade but an enhancement of what you already have. — which is what jewelry should be.
