PowerShopper is, at its heart, about saving Main Street. Our company owns community newspapers in small-town America, where local merchants have been buffeted by everything from Wal-Mart to CyberMonday. It turns out, locally-based merchants have a lot to offer online shoppers, and we’re here to prove it. Sometimes we’ll show you how to find an item on Amazon or other such super-site, but mostly for convenience. Using our search engine right next door, you’ll often find our favorites close to home and in a larger variety of colors!

    somehow reminded me of an email I received from my girlfriend, Julie this summer. With her permission I share it here…

    I needed to forward along the below email. No need to read the entire thing but I felt compelled to share my experience in order to help a fantastic company that is trying to grow and clearly doing all the right things to get there!

    For those of you who have never shopped Zappos for shoes (or handbags and accessories, etc.) it is probably the most amazing, streamlined and easy shopping experience you will ever have. I have been ordering from them for over 2 years and have only found the experience to be nothing short of ideal.

    But yesterday sealed the deal. As a preferred customer (cuz I order SO MANY shoes from them! ;-) I am now entitled to overnight shipping at no extra charge - but the cutoff for the order is 4:00 EST. I placed my order yesterday at 5:38 with no expectation that I would receive my big white and black box until Monday when I arrived to my office.

    Instead I received this email late last night (please pay particular attention to the second half of their email) and a Zappos box was in my office at 10:30 am this morning.

    Incredible. And who else allows you to take 365 days to return an unworn item for a full refund!!?? Perfect for the non-committal shopper, like me!

    Thanks for listening to my rambling…but I just had to share.
